Yusuf Pathan tests positive for Covid-19: Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan announced on Saturday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Yusuf’s announcement comes on the same day when Sachin Tendulkar also tested positive for the dreaded virus.
Yusuf, who played 57 ODIs and 22 T20Is for India, was part of the India legends team that Sachin Tendulkar captained in the recently-concluded Road Safety Legends tournament in Raipur. With both having come down with the infection, questions regarding the safety of the players in the tournament will be raised.
Yusuf, in his Twitter message announcing his contracting of the disease, requested those who came in contact with him recently to also get tested. This would include ex-players such as Yuvraj Singh and Rohan Gavaskar as well, not to mention those from other teams.
Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for Covid-19. Sachin confirmed his test report via a Twitter update. Tendulkar said, though he has tested positive, other members in his family have tested negative.
However, in what would be a big relief for millions of his fans, Sachin is recovering well and hasn’t had fever since morning. This information was given by cricket writer and friend of Tendulkar, Boria Majumdar.
Sachin, giving the news to his followers, had said, ‘I have tested Covid-19 positive and am quarantining at home. Rest in the family have tested negative’.
It is worth noting that Maharashtra is going through a second COVID-19 wave. The state on Friday decided to impose Night Curfew from Sunday.
Maharashtra will enforce a night curfew from Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s office said, as the state struggles with its biggest surge in coronavirus infections since the beginning of the pandemic. Shopping malls will be closed from 8 pm to 7 am, the order said.
